Description:
Counsilman-Hunsaker, in association with Hastings & Chivetta Architects, was commissioned by the City of St. Peters to plan and design a world-class aquatics complex for its nationally recognized aquatics program and to host special aquatic events. In 1994, the Rec-Plex hosted Olympic Festival and in 2004, Olympic Diving Trials.

The state-of-the-art natatorium includes:

• 50-meter by 25-yard competition pool
• One- and three-meter diving boards
• Diving tower with one-, three-, five-, seven-and-a-half, and ten-meter platforms
• Movable floor of the shallow end can be raised to deck level or lowered to a depth of two meters for deep-water racing starts
• Whirlpool spa

The 3,500 SF free-form leisure pool features:

• Corkscrew waterslide
• Zero-beach entry
• Vortex
• Current channel
• Water fountain

In 1994, Athletic Business magazine recognized the St. Peters Rec-Plex with a ‘Facility of Merit’ award for its outstanding design.
