| Description: |
The Detroit Public School District possesses a strong commitment to the special needs population of their community. They commissioned the aquatics expertise of Counsilman-Hunsaker to design a swimming venue to meet the school’s various programming needs. With the development of the Sinai Educational Campus, a teaching pool was designed for those with special needs.
Features of the teaching pool include:
• Ramp entry • Recessed stairs • Pool lift • Underwater benches • Uniquely designed filtration and sanitizing systems
A traditional eight-lane, 25-yard competitive pool was also included in the programming design. The pool provides deep-water starts and includes a one-meter springboard. The pool’s shallow portion is designed with recessed stairs.
