Counsilman-Hunsaker was commissioned to design a unique and exciting 17-acre outdoor waterpark for North Richland Hills. The city’s objective was to provide a fun, rewarding experience for every waterpark guest. With that in mind, Counsilman-Hunsaker designed a variety of water attractions to appeal to many age groups. Amenities of the grand water park include:
Six Waterslides - Of the six innovative waterslides, three are body slides: one that sends riders through near darkness into the water; another provides a calmer, open-flume ride; and a third offers twists and turns in an enclosed tube. The other three are double-rider inner tube slides: one with sloping drops; another that is totally enclosed and tubular; and one that is seven stories tall with 1,161 ft. of twists and turns, propelling riders at an average of 19 ft. per second.
NRH2Ocean - A wave pool with zero-depth entry includes a “dive-in” where movie guests can watch the latest flick every evening at dusk.
Splashatory - An amazing five-story play feature includes six more waterslides, interactive water activities, and a giant tipping beaker. A lazy river serpentines through a section of the park, allowing guests to relax on inner tubes and enjoy the scenery. Also included is a children’s area, designed for guests less than 48” tall, complete with an array of chutes and water activities.
