For Hotchkiss School aquatics, 2002 was a big and exciting year—it marked the grand opening of the new natatorium for the school’s Bearcat swim teams.
The team of Counsilman-Hunsaker and Ellerbe Becket designed this world-class aquatic facility to meet the school and Athletic Department’s programming goals and objectives. This excellent pool is used for lap swimming, recreational swimming, exercise classes, swim meets, and other activities.
State-of-the-art features include:
• 9,090 sq. ft. 25-yard stretch pool with 10 competition lanes or 15 training lanes
• Moveable bulkhead
• Two 1-meter springboards•Bleacher seating
The natatorium serves as a key training venue as well as a first-class host to competitive events for Hotchkiss School.
